Notice and Takedown

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Report illegal or Terms-violating files. We confirm receipt, review notices diligently, and tell you our decision.

1. How to submit a notice

2. What a useful notice includes

To act efficiently we need notices that are precise and adequately substantiated. Please include:

  • A substantiated explanation of why the item is illegal or violates our Terms of Service;
  • The exact electronic location (URL) and/or file key so we can identify the item;
  • Your name and email address — except for reports involving child sexual abuse material, where identity may be omitted;
  • A good-faith statement that the information and allegations are accurate and complete.

Report categories align with our reason codes: malware, copyright, phishing, spam, privacy, harassment, terrorism, csam, illegal_other, tos_sexual, other.

3. Receipt and decision

If you provide an email address, we send a confirmation of receipt without undue delay and later notify you of our decision on the noticed information. When we restrict access, the uploader receives a public reason where we have contact details and are not legally prohibited from notifying them.

Content decisions are made by humans. Automated means at upload are limited to magic-bytes validation and known-malware hash lookup; we do not claim AI scanning of all uploads.

4. Triage buckets and target times

  • Critical (clear malware, CSAM, terrorism-related illegal content): same calendar day — disable; CSAM/LE may add a legal hold; malware may be denylisted;
  • Clear Terms violations: within 2 business days — disable or delete with a public reason;
  • Grey / incomplete: within 5–10 business days — dismiss, request more information, or act after review.

5. Actions we may take

  • Dismiss — no access change; notice closed;
  • Disable — public access revoked; object may remain in storage;
  • Delete + denylist — object removed and hash blocked from re-upload where applicable;
  • Preserve (legal hold) — access disabled and retention locked so expiry cleanup cannot delete the object (typically for CSAM / valid law-enforcement matters).

6. Contesting a decision

If you disagree with a decision on a notice you submitted, or as an uploader you disagree with a restriction, reply to the decision email or write to abuse@gtaup.com with additional context. We will reassess. This mail-based redress is our current process; it is not a full platform complaint portal.

7. Misuse of notices

Repeatedly submitting knowingly false or unfounded notices may result in proportionate restrictions on further reporting, after prior warning where practicable.
